ER308L has the same analysis as type 308 except the carbon content has been held to a maximum of .03% to reduce the possibility of intergranular carbide precipitation. 316Si Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire is structured for extra low carbon molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steels such as type 316LSi, 316Si. 25# Plastic spool wire of 0.045" Dia is utilized for joining and cladding 316L joints and overlays referred to as 18-8 steels while finds its application in ASTM A240 types 302, 304, 304L ASTM A743 or A744 Types CF-8 and CF-3. Undiluted weld metal is designed to contain considerable ferrite for high crack resistance and having maximum silicon levels improves weld puddle fluidity and wetting, also comes in a bead shape. It features definite carbon content for better corrosion resistance and consists of balanced chromium and nickel levels to offers sufficient ferrite in the weld metal for high resistance to cracking.
